Which month is right for your session?

You have to determine what is most important for your session in order to decide what month you want to schedule your session.

Do you want sundresses or long sleeves? Do you want flowers or fall foliage? Are you afraid of being too hot and getting a little sweaty or not?

I'm going to lay out the best months for scheduling depending on what the most important thing is to you!

  1. Cherry Blossoms - April - these flowers bloom for an incredibly short period of time in April. So if you want cherry blossoms, you will want to schedule in April, communicate that you want cherry blossoms, and be a little flexible in case the timing changes up.
  2. Best overall weather - Late May, June, and September - I find that during these months, the weather is really nice for photoshoots. In May and June, it hasn't gotten too hot yet and by September, the weather is starting to cool off, but isn't cold yet.
  3. Best Flowers - July - For sunflowers, zinnias, and wildflowers, July is the best time to schedule! Sunflowers also have a short bloom time, but can usually be caught in late July. Zinnias start blooming in mid-July and can last for several months, but to catch the first wave, you should schedule in July.
  4. Best Sunsets - August - I'm a fan of August sunsets. There's so much going on in the sky in August, with meteor showers and I just feel like the sunsets never disappoint in August! Want to really switch things up - ask for a sunrise session! I love a good morning sunrise photoshoot!
  5. Fall Colors - Early to Mid-October - Fall colors start to show mid-to-late September, but are usually in full swing early to mid-October.
